Salomon Adv Skin 12 Review
Up until recently, on my longer runs, I’ve been using a cycling Camelbak pack to carry a bladder and various other equipment (waterproof jacket, etc). This was more than good enough when I was starting off but now I’m going longer distances and I’m wanting to carry more than just a drink I need something better suited for the task.
So after lots and lots of research, I settled on the Salomon Adv Skin 12 pack.
The pack I was using was fine but only fine, it moved around quite a bit, the pockets were hard to reach, it wasn’t designed for runners it was designed for cycling.
Now, this Salomon pack is a world of difference.
The first thing you notice is the number of available pockets, there are loads of them. There’s four on the front, and these are not small pockets either, then there’s another one around the side/lower back that’s easy to reach. Finally, there are two massive compartments for storing any equipment you might have.
It’s not just storage this pack has it can also carry a lot of fluid. There are two flasks on the front, each holding 500ml. Then there is a compartment for a bladder which can be up to 2 litres. That’s a total of 3 litres of fluid that can be carried, compared to my old pack that is just mindblowing (and heavy carrying all that).
On top of all this, this pack fits snuggly against your body. When running it doesn’t bounce around or move, it’s nice and secure. By snug I mean it’s nice and comfy, not too tight, not too loose, just right.
Overall I’m really happy with this purchase. After all the research I’ve done I’m confident I made the right choice.
